Implementation of New Housing Allocations Policy

We have closed the bidding cycle to allow time for everyone to re-register under the new policy. There will be no properties advertised for a few weeks whilst this work is carried out.

We will be processing existing applications as a priority in line with the new policy and all applicants who re-apply will be notified of the outcome of their application.

Unfortunately there will be a delay in processing any new applications from 16 May 2025 while we work on existing applications.

BFC My Choice

BFC My Choice is the housing register website for affordable (social) housing in Bracknell Forest.

The demand for social housing is bigger than the number of homes available. The council manages a housing allocation scheme to allocate housing in a fair and transparent way to those in greatest need.

In Bracknell Forest, social housing is owned by registered providers (formerly known as housing associations). The council nominates households to registered providers through nomination agreements.

The council implemented a new housing allocations policy on 16 May 2025.

New Housing Allocations Policy for Bracknell Forest

The new housing allocations policy was agreed following the consultation process.
We are implementing the new policy from 16 May 2025.
Everyone currently registered with an active housing application through BFC My Choice will be invited to re-apply and will be notified in due course.
